What happens with computers that must not be updated

Every plant has computers that drive a machine with control software the manufacturer approved for one version of the operating system. Updating them is a risk; leaving them unwatched is a bigger one.

TrustRMM treats them as a protected group: full monitoring of disk, memory, services and event logs, a backup of the settings, an alert on every change - and no automatic updates, reboots or scripts. When something does have to change, it is done on manual approval, in the window production set, and logged.

What operations and IT managers in plants ask

Our production network is cut off from the internet. How does this work?
Two options: allow the production network HTTPS out to the system's address only (one firewall rule, nothing inbound), or install the management system on a server inside the plant. There is no need to connect the production network to the office network.
We run three shifts. When do you update?
When production says. Each group of computers has its own window - a planned shutdown, a weekend, or never automatically. The system does not reboot a production computer without approval.
What about a PC with old Windows that drives a machine?
Monitored and backed up, not updated. It sits in a protected group where nothing runs automatically. You see its state all the time and get an alert before the disk fills or a service drops.
We have several plants and a remote warehouse. One system or several?
One screen, separate sites. Each site with its own windows and policies, and a team that can be limited to its own site.
What happens when the management system is unavailable?
The computers keep working as usual. The agent is not needed for the machine to run, and when the system returns it reconnects on its own.
